Halloween Cut Outs
Black construction paper, paint, glitter and a little flocking. Not trying to be too scary because one of the little ones isn't quite ready for gore, but still Halloween appropriate.
Using Beeswax and Walnut Oil to Stain -- Ugggg
Painted the parts I wanted on the pyrographed peacock box, then attempted coating in beeswax and walnut oil to use all natural products. . Gad, what a mess. First the wax is hot once you melt it. Then it thickens up fast. I think I perhaps needed more walnut oil in the mix, as I don't think there was a lot of saturation in the wood...I used about 3:1 wax/oil. I have the box sitting in the sun now -- thought is that the beeswax globby parts will gently melt a bit, and I can smooth it out. It does have a finish on it, but quite a "waxy" tacky finish, and don't really want to put it on a indoor surface.

Using my excel skills for good. Thank you WB for the time to perfect and the encouragement to volunteer so many years ago....proof that a business entity can really quietly want to be charitable, and reap benefits beyond its own balance sheet.
