Lamp Idea ..Clay, Glass

Ok...taking an idea from an Accolay lamp I have....and using my new found fused glass ability....but certainly not much skill in InDesign (b/c I cut off the lamp shade and can't get the color gradations right).....a ceramic cylinder, a glass inset -- turned into a lamp.  Maybe some texture on the clay cylinder.  And not these colors, but I couldn't put my pencils on the screen...just played with cmyk on limited base colors...and did not play for the win...this time!  Let's see what happens to it in real life.

My first KooKoo

Cauliflower KooKoo. Not that it is hard, just hadn't done it.  Does this show new maturity in cooking? Likely not.  Should have decorated with pomegranate seeds or some color. Pretend.

On the bias, binding tape with history!

Hemming with an extra piece of fabric and binding tape so it is clean with no  "_ _ _ _ _" line:  nice trick.

Using binding tape from 40+ years ago from a Mom who kept her binding tapes  (untouched!) in a box neatly in the sewing closet:  priceless.

Summer day away

View above.  After feet in a cold running creek. And after that ..strawberries, ice & a little cream.

Best watering container....

Well, best watering container I have seen made of plastic!  Suppose the best water container is natural, like a raindrop or something like that.  But these were pretty cute.

Fused Glass

Had fun trying this medium the other day -- fused glass.  A shop in town devoted to fostering "you make it" fused glass opened recently. Well set up with supplies and helpful staff. The luminosity of glass and transparency in general is something I like very much.  I am a bit chicken of blowing glass as that flame is soooo hot, but this was done safely in the kiln.

Here below..in kiln before being fired.   Basically: you lightly glue the glass pieces on the glass bases/supports..and then in the kiln it goes to fuse.
