To the coast and back..Lupins, grazers

Was aiming for the spotted goat, not the back ends of the sheep here, but, since they made it into the picture, leaving them...being used for grass maintenance.  Lupins all over on coast....mainly yellow ones, but took an image of the purple ones

Clay sculpture in progress

Six clay pieces thrown on the wheel. Wanted the center part to have a ridge, so made it from two. Still have plans for the top part here. I will add that I dropped it after this photo...the "legs" are not in the same shape as they were before...a "muscle" bulge here and there. Might have to work on the now slightly crooked stance part too. Sometimes leaving the story is how it should be, though fixing is also part of the story. If looks too icky, will try it again.

Niece day!

We are still in the "learning to sew" process, and she brought some things to modify as well as some to repair.  Sewing machine and hand sewing. Took a break to make both a Quinoa and Couscous dish.  And...play a card game (which I won!!!!!).

So wonderful to be with my nieces.  And...not to worry....plenty of balance with this kid in terms of other interests/stuff beyond sewing and cooking...but, handy life skills to add to repertoire.

Rose -- 20+ years

20 or so years for this rose bush....and a move of about 400 miles north. Went from a pot to the ground. Less blooming/less stems than originally, and grateful each year it blooms.  It was a hybrid, now has an offshoot with roses of different colors and structure.

E-bike tee shirt for the man who just about said "never"

He has been a cyclist since he could reach pedals -- and even before that, he coasted all over the house on a wheeled horse. Baby brother has capped on "e-bike" riding.....implied because of it not using the physical body as much, and, maybe just a little itty bit because he doesn't want to outlay for one.

Sooo..much to my surprise,  my niece (his daughter) told me her Daddy was on a ride on an e-bike that day.  We all knew it was just about the antithesis of what he had projected prior.  We went to work so crow eating could be enjoyed by all.  Went together quickly (yes, looks like it too...haha)..but, sometimes doing something fast and not perfect is better than doing it slower and not getting it done!

Cut the letters from a scrap cotton tee. Started sewing them, but thread kept on breaking (tension on light fabric or something....not sure). Used double stick from then on....and yes, that last "e" needs a hot iron to work on adherence.

He put it right on, with grimace, but still a smile.
