Hydrocal with plastic magnetic letters embedded. Used galvanized mesh to add stability....and it rusted. Hence the splotches. Galvanized does not mean rust proof, even in the short term. I should have let it bake in the sun to make sure it dried out quickly. As of now, I don't want to paint over, as have decided the whole process of this was the process....freaking rust and all.
I was aiming for clear stand, plexi, but trying out this wood...don't think it is there yet, but it is hard to find the wood width that I want in relationship to plaque. Plus, I may do it one more time (ha), to try to eliminate the rust.
