Beginnings of Ceramic Tile Table

a. Made "life size" copy of the art I wanted to turn into a table.  (24" x 38" in this case)
b. Put that copy onto a slab of clay.
c. Etched lines with side of pointed end of pencil (not the point, as too sharp..tears paper).
d. Use x-acto knife to cut along the lines you "perforated" with the pencil.
e. Allow gradual dry of the tiles.  Mine are on two boards.  First couple days with plastic on top, flat weight on top of that to allow for flat slow dry.  Then moved to paper on top, with flat weight.
Move the tiles at least once a day so the are free of the underneath damp they created.

More later as the project progresses!

My First Glaze!

Commercial color compared to "natural" color = faster + the color you know you will get close to getting once fired. Using the "primitive" method, did achieve a glaze like finish, but it was burnishing, open flames, etc.  Both good, but the stuff from a jar has merits too.

Double Infinity Clay Bowl

Double Infinity bowl.  Feet use infinity pattern as well.  Will see how my first (adult) attempt at glaze works...tried tonight. Clay is kind of groggy...more so than the native clay I used recently...but we will call it texture, and next time I will use a more smooth variety.

Red on Grey -- Camper shoes Disinigrate

Performance art?  Reviewing things in the closets to give away, came upon a pair of Camper shoes hadn't worn in ages. Put them on. Spur of the moment trip to the airport, shoes still on feet.  Dropped off at Arrivals, felt something a little odd once I got in the terminal.  My shoes were falling apart at the heals.   Little I could do but walk about until I had "mission accomplished," but I am sure janitor felt otherwise.  Little one was quite happy to collect the bigger parts.
