Self Composed
Visit to SFMOMA....which is "committed" to photography as an art form..interactive, and in this case, rightly "obscurable!"

Ceramic Goat
Goat-that-is-a-little-too-rounded-dog-sheep-like glazed relaxed on wood that is to be interesting dirt.
I made a ceramic dirt plane with some grass, but feels to cold somehow...plus, the first round of glaze on it was u-g-l-y. It is ready to go with another, but the ceramic on ceramic didn't feel as the goat on dirt felt in real life -- the wood it getting me there a bit better. I like his hay in photograph, but think too corny on the wood. Final yet to come perhaps.

Prague Open Face Sandwiches Oblozene Chlebicky
From my first trip to Prague, I have smiled as I see these sandwiches in the bake shops....they are "utilitarian" and on the inexpensive side, even for there....these are about equivalent of about $1 per.
Back in 1990 you saw them in more places, but now fancier (in theory) fare has taken the retail shop spaces, but you still can find these...just tucked even more in background. My friend had told me before they were the workers sandwiches....before subs and such had hit. Oblozene Chlebicky (dressed bread).
Look at that fanfare and flourish....each applied by hand of course, with care for visual and taste combined. I can't say they are the most delicious item to eat there, but they get an A for effort.

Embroidery on Sheer Fabric -- City Buildings
Idea for future...sheet tightly stretched...city landscape ...granted not an "ordinary" city, but one filled with lovely buildings. Reflection of some more tame buildings in glass that these were behind on the street in Prague.

Yesterday's walk....
And...another bobcat. This one wasn't running away very fast at all...looked like the Serengeti...almost.

Graffiti -- Inspiring
Played some late afternoon hooky on Tuesday...came across this in old gravel yard I used to bike by on coast...well, I didn't bike out there a lot, but it was a landmark of sorts. Now, adorned with these, quite a different remarkable spot -- each of them is different..expression, gesture.

Red on Grey -- Camper shoes Disinigrate
Performance art? Reviewing things in the closets to give away, came upon a pair of Camper shoes hadn't worn in ages. Put them on. Spur of the moment trip to the airport, shoes still on feet. Dropped off at Arrivals, felt something a little odd once I got in the terminal. My shoes were falling apart at the heals. Little I could do but walk about until I had "mission accomplished," but I am sure janitor felt otherwise. Little one was quite happy to collect the bigger parts.

Cement Floor --patina of use
This cement floor had served in my Dad's studio at one point before he moved his studio to bigger separate building. I believe the paint splats must have been from some project way back then in 1960s.
A decade or so later, a bit of an unorthodox use of mainly scrap wood was used to create a parquet floor. Unfortunately, some of it was tasty for bad bugs, so the floor removed (with a lot of work), to reveal the cement above (after quite a bit of cleaning). So the lines from the wood blocks added their own patina to the floor. Did I really need to say how much work it was to tackle this? Yes.
And I haven't even got to polishing or whatever else I may do to finish it off while leaving it pseudo "raw."
