Volunteering nearby, and came across this caterpillar. At first I thought he was a cast off toy, but then it moved. Big and puffy. Apparently it is a White-Lined Sphinx Moth ..they get as big as a hummingbird.
Then, a velvet horned deer spent about 5 hours in the backyard. Did some very loud snorts, a deer sound I had not been aware about prior. He noticed me looking at him, but I stayed quite and away, so likely why he stuck around for so long.
