Two Presents!

 Did two presentations on same subject dear to me heart. Grateful for the opportunity and for all that came to hear and see.

My sisters went out very early to the coast to catch the low tide. One snapped this guy -- perhaps better than him snapping her.   

Towhee nest with baby

 

Towhees made their nest on the ground, and laid some eggs. So far, this one has hatched. 

Skirt

 Haven't sewed much lately, so when I found these colorful fabric, played. (Well, I have sewed, but along the line of tailoring for family upcoming event). 

Outdoor Sightings

Volunteering nearby, and came across this caterpillar. At first I thought he was a cast off toy, but then it moved.  Big and puffy. Apparently it is a White-Lined Sphinx Moth ..they get as big as a hummingbird. 

Then, a velvet horned deer spent about 5 hours in the backyard. Did some very loud snorts, a deer sound I had not been aware about prior. He noticed me looking at him, but I stayed quite and away, so likely why he stuck around for so long. 

 

 

Pencil Fish

 Discovered this fish on a walk in an area where locals do "outside" art with mainly found and recycled objects. 

Prom Dress -- next gen

My niece on the left, me on the right many decades ago -- Senior Ball..High School.  Niece humored me by trying on the dress. She said she and her friends are going for long dress this Prom, but more bodycon then my dress. Happy it got to see the light of day -- if just for a short time. And yes, a bit of an eye roll to myself that I have held on to that dress. 

 

Perspective

As I was going through some old family photo film strips using an initial quick technique to do initial sort, (shared with me by a very nice local photographer), I came upon her. Believe she was child of family friends. I am sure her charms came out in ways other than this depicts, but made me smile with a little "ahhh." Interesting to me to think of what a camera catches, and how it sorts the depths, shades, etc. 
 

Creating something with "waste"..which is likely also a waste, but....

 

Took some past lottery papers and sewed them together. A friend has me buying him tickets ..he is overseas for now, and says we will split. (Laughing at the odds of winning). As I assessed the pile, I said "what a waste," on a few levels, other than he seems happy to think about winning, so, that is a win. 

So, I sewed some together, and wrote a bit of a letter to him on the backside. Hopefully that will bring a laugh, another win.

When I stood in front of this pole, it was not only the texture, but all the messages that had gone before.

Thank you Mom and Dad for showing me this in childhood. So tempting when I walk by this type of weed.

Mmmmm

Arrived a bit early for a talk, and took a walk to a place that is special to me, about 10 miles from home There were two lizards laying there, not disturbed by my closeness. Later in the day, as I arrived home, a large lizard was on the side of the house. Writing this here to help me mark.

 

Local mountain having fun

 Looks like a lot of  snow. Clouds playing with us. Maybe a tiny tiny bit, as it did snow there last week (rarity)…flecks more than piles.

Moral dilemma.....preserved

 

This was written a long time ago. I don't remember which path I took. I do remember that Mom was a very organized with her files. I recovered this when going through a box labeled with my name and "keepsakes." 

Logo tees to quilt

 

Debating whether the rightful recipient (the one who wore them) would want a quilt out of these tee shirt cuttings. Yes, separate the squares with a unifying fabric, but, likely still fairly busy for the eyes.  Will see.

Below -- on walk today, went by this poster...her bird tattoo is related to the feathers on her lip...hopefully the bird that left them there survived. 

Barbie Pants - 1 Pattern Piece - Inspired Adult Pair

 

Purchased some vintage patterns for Barbie clothes -- printed on cotton knit, including the actual patterns and colors of the clothing. Pattern piece for pants has me intrigued the most. Only one pattern piece! I made a Barbie size out of some fabric on hand, then moved on to create a human size for me. Laughed as I went for a walk the day I made them -- tree doesn't need pants, but I would know how to accommodate.

Busy, but also time enjoy stuff

                                     I felt it would rather be used "out there" than sitting in box.
