Copper Bracelet -- Lace Imprint

Playing with adding texture to metal...in this case 20 gauge copper sheet.  Took a piece of lace, and then ran it through the roller. Four holes, some leather string, and a bracelet is made.  The lace is subtle, but does show up in contrast to the part I kept smooth...photography makes that a bit hard to tell.

Here is another do-dad I cut out by hand...love using hand tools ...goes slow enough to allow a good deal of control, but still cuts metal! Fine tooth blade...think my "unorthodox" sewing experience helps...I've done a fair amount of bizarre movements with the Bernina when working on Solvy projects...the movements to get the needle (or blade) to move where you want.   Note: I have broken a lot of blades, but my rate of breakage is improving.

Cool Card

A card to thank a sunglass maker for going above and beyond in helping obtain green ear socks!

Copper Pendant

Beginning of jewelry making....my first cuts into metal to make a design using a hand tool....very fine saw blade, jewelry saw (like a coping saw, but with 3 adjustment points). Broke a few blades (well, broke more than a few), but think I am progressed some in figuring out how to make the blade tight and less prone to breakage. Still more to be done on this...bevel, polish, etc...but light on August posts, so.....

Belated Balloon Birthday Card

Balloons on my mind, but I missed an important Birthday. So, I lined them up ready for next year. Shhh, Naomi, if you see this before the mail gets to your house!

The balloons with sewing was my first thought...but the receiver started making remarks about the shape of balloons, and I had known from the beginning that they wouldn't be usable due to the holes.

So, second late birthday (gosh, not a good trend), I used tape. Now this one can be used for next time!

Glass Shard Bluebird on Canvas

CanvasBack? Oh, no, just a blue bird. Used glass shards/chips on canvas, stitched post that bird is perching  upon.  I think I just used up my canvasback duck joke allotment.
