Beach House "Thank you"

Used thin sheet of birch to layer on Beach House.  The birch was more sturdy than the balsa wood I used for the shingles, so used xacto knife on birch to cut out windows and doors, still rough cuts for sure, but from a distance with poor eyesight....  Yes, looks like a 9 year old (or....) did it, but was still fun.  Wrote my impressions of the house on the back.

Let it be re-affirmed that no two stars are alike. Stitched with machine on paper.

Stitched Card -- Tintin and Snowy

Ok, cheating because it is not my artwork.  Stitched around picture of Tintin and Snowy for a thank you card for a friend.  Felt that if I made their eyes and other face details I would mess up...so, they look a little "blank" on the side that has the stitching most prevalent.   Fixed omission on front, didn't put new picture of fix on back....can you tell the difference (quiz appropriate for 5 year old?)?

Used sewing machine, thread, and paper.

Flower Power Card

Flower stitched on card. It did skid across the card with the sewing machine needle, but grew a fondness for the smudge track it left, so let it be.  Lifted the foot to stitch across the lower half.

Belated Balloon Birthday Card

Balloons on my mind, but I missed an important Birthday. So, I lined them up ready for next year. Shhh, Naomi, if you see this before the mail gets to your house!

The balloons with sewing was my first thought...but the receiver started making remarks about the shape of balloons, and I had known from the beginning that they wouldn't be usable due to the holes.

So, second late birthday (gosh, not a good trend), I used tape. Now this one can be used for next time!

Twisted Wire Card

Had fun making a simple shape out of copper wire, stitched to card.

Cut Out Saying Cards

Room for improvement, but borrowing idea to translate for card.  Would work better with bright pop of color underneath, and perhaps a free hand technique (as i saw in original) for the script. The saying on the first card came from conversation with "help desk" for new laptop.  I made a rather funny, though unintentional, choice of words in reading my serial number to the help desk person.  After fits of laughter, he related that he has heard plenty goofy references...."3 as in 3," and the one I really cracked up about "G as in Jesus."

Happy Valentine's Day

Be sure to read the last line before you scroll down....if it is on your iPhone, you are liable to have a hard time reading it!  Happy Valentine's Day!

3 Girls, 1 Boy

An element of doubleinfinitypixie with which I have played: Taking some "vintage" photographs of my siblings, digitalizing, and applying cards (eventually to notebooks, etcetera, etcetera).
