Flower Wrap

Happened upon a flower headband workshop while travelling. Set up in upper floors of museum, targeted to kids perhaps, but open to all.  Tradition had an annual parade of young girls with a "wreath" of flowers in their hair as the Spring flowers came to bloom.

Took a piece of vine and some fine wire.  Wrapping the wire around the vine, incorporating blooms in wire loops to work all the way down the vine. The town was full bloom, both cultivated in gardens and in the more "wild"  parts of nature.

I didn't take the time to make a full head wreath, but the wristband I did make gave me tutorial for understanding some of what had come before via the tradition.

 Some lovely displays of nature. Somewhat similar in composition.

Skirt -- from Tee Shirt

Take your desired tee shirt : Cut from lower part of armhole up to shoulder..both sides.  Side seam your cut.  I wanted the words to drop down, so I added a couple inches of black fabric to the top (where I had cut at shoulder).  Fold over top to make place of elastic waistband. Fast and easy!

Guest Artist -- California Landmark

She chose the Hollywood sign -- in part to be different from the suggestion on list.  Schools going much wider than the controversial Mission model building of past ten or so years.  LA in foreground, complete with a bunch of traffic.  The toyons part of her learning -- where the "holly" part came from -- the red berries of the toyons.
