Two.five.  Bisque fired tiles - cut from slab of clay. Test tiles on sections to help with process.
(Process Two involves making tiles...this is about the "fifth" step in Process Two.)

(See 7.24.2017 post for install into kitchen)

Four.four.  (process Three is test tiles).  In process of glazing. ..after many test tiles and still plenty of mystery involved...mystery resolved...good or bad -- once remove from kiln. (the application of glaze is not finished in this photo)

One.eight. Starting point: Photograph,  At this step of process One, the photo is broken down in sections for tiles, big details "arranged/enhanced" so to help composition.

Cloud and Mist work....

We live in such a pretty place...the water ways don't slant quite this much, and the marsh really doesn't have quite so tall grass, but my inside eye knows the beauty of what this came from...and I think the hills know I didn't mean to make them less majestic!

A bit abstract

One of those side-of -road-dusty-small- towns with ag fields around. Added solar panels because I didn't want the above ground poles going in front of it...had seen some solar panels in town up north...looked a bit incongruent with the "old town" atmosphere, but things change. This here was taken from an abstract already, so not my image, but my kind-of copy of image. Now I need to do my own.

Tree Painting from a Newbie

Ok, simple as all get out in terms of composition. But, my second on canvas painting, and my first taken from real and ending up kind-of -real-looking painting,

Paper Play

Above: Paper, paint, and words.

Below: Playing with paper I got in a little shop in Prague...many moons ago. Can control the flow of paper better than paint!  Making something when you are somewhere other than "home" is a nice souvenir.

Leather Clutch Made from Vintage Portfolio

Took a vintage leather portfolio and trimmed off most of the damaged edges, as well as pulled out the insert and removed inner section and edge zipper. Strange to me that cardboard was in between the leather and original lining...pulled that out and discarded. .  Left with leather rectangle with a zipper in it ("made in Germany" says the pull).

Pictures below outline the steps after that...ironed on freezer paper (that stuff is soooo useful) to block off the parts I wanted to remain black.  Then put a stripe of thin gaffers tape down the center of that and over the zipper. Sprayed two coats of metallic gold spray paint (part of my "let's see what we can do with this can" project series).

Made a lining, and stitched with trusty Bernina onto top edge, sewing sides of lining together, then tucking inside as I sewed edges of leather together to form rectangle. Fold over top edge, one has herself a golden active stripe clutch!
