A visit
Took the little one for a visit...for me too. Re-kindle memories of a time long ago....the era,
brought about in part by Caroll.

Langos..kind of
Had some Langos...Hungarian snack...the other day from food truck on Treasure Island (the island, not the hotel!), and tried a version at home. Used Persian flat bread from local market instead of making (and frying) the "authentic" bread...one can't go too wrong (except for health-wise) with bread, cheese, sour cream...not quite counterbalanced in the nutrition arena with fresh dill, garlic, paprika, and garden tomatoes.

3 tables in progress
A lot of tile setting this past 10 days. Kitchen backsplash and then these three tables that had all their tiles completed for some time, just waiting for time and good weather to be assembled.
The pine marten is a special order....b/c she knows she saw one in local tree a year or so ago.
He looks a little troubled, but she was ok with expression, so it stays.

Kitchen Ceramic Backsplash -- installed
Ok..still some trim work, switch plate changing, etc...but getting there. Mom's kitchen...the person
who would praise even if it didn't turn out! I made the tiles in center -- local coast scene (Drakes Estero)...irises,poppies, water inlets, beach and the horizon. Heath tiles for the rest.
Came together quickly....laid out tiles on flat pattern of walls, moved boards of tiles next to me while installing to help keep it on track. Mastic, spacers. Dry, then grout. Caulking where tile meets counter...my first time, but ok. Next will seal, and do some grout trim at top of a couple places (the caulking on top didn't work..fine at base where it had counter as "barrier/stopping place", not fine on top!).

Backsplash layout -- in progress
Using beach scene from local place that I had rendered in ceramic tiles to work in backsplash.
We shall see how it turns out...a little different for me to work vertical with tiles....hoping the mastic holds the bigger ones quickly enough ...the balance of allowing for placement alignment and not sliding down the wall! The straight lines of the Heath tiles are interesting to work with too...moving around with friendly dimensions that work together. Not sure on the glass on top...thinking.

Dress -- guest artist
My niece made this dress for the figure here. The doll is "invisible," hence the exposed brain apparently (though why that not invisible?!)...the red has nothing to do with blood...just the pen she chose. I think it quite stylish...lack of uniform color....way the tissue lays.
